First Universalist Church, Dexter Free Library and the DPW GarageIn the past Frontier has assisted the Town of Brownville with many improvements to their public facilities. In 1994, Dexter received $250,000 in bonding from Key Bank N.A. to build a new public works barn. In 1991, a New York State Revolving Loan Fund in the amount of $1,250,000 was received for a sewage treatment plant expansion. In addition, Frontier assisted the Town of Brownville in obtaining financing grants for the water district. Infrastructure improvements were made possible with $1,200,000 in grant funding in the Village of Dexter.

In 2000, FHC transformed the former First Universalist Church into a Museum/Historical Society. A grant for $22,000 was use for an expansion project at the Dexter Free Library. Further, Frontier Housing has continuously applied and received grant funding to construct and renovate the local parks. In the Village of Dexter a public park was constructed with a $15,000 grant. In 2005, Frontier was awarded a Ronald McDonald House Charities grant for $5,000 to rehabilitate the Dexter Memorial Field Recreation Center. In addition, $40,000 was funded to upgrade a fishing access point in the Village of Dexter. In 2008, Frontier received $500 from Stewart's Stores to assist in the renovations for the old elementary playground in the Village of Dexter.
